Ultrasound Guided PIV Insertion

Description

Infusion therapy standards of practice recommend visualization technology for the location and identification of blood vessels.

By attending this hands-on training program, attendees learn to visualize deep and difficult veins, determine the depth and size of veins, administer local anesthesia, and successfully insert peripheral catheters in one attempt.

This is a vital skill for clinicians working in the acute care settings, specifically in the ER, ICU, radiology, and pediatric units.

Who Should Attend this Ultrasound Guided Peripheral IV Insertion Program?

  • Registered nurses (RNs) with basic venipuncture and peripheral catheter insertion skills
  • Radiology technologists with basic venipuncture and peripheral catheter insertion skills
  • Advance nurse practitioners, physician assistants and allied healthcare professionals with basic venipuncture and peripheral catheter insertion skills

PLEASE NOTE: Attendees are required to have excellent peripheral IV skills before attending this class. If needed, please attend the IV refresher and skill enhancement program prior to attending this program.
